This role offers the opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with meaningful work that directly supports programs and initiatives serving the community.The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted partner to program leaders and finance management, ensuring grant funds are managed, reported, and compliant with federal and state requirements. This position provides ownership of the full grant lifecycle, from billing and reimbursement requests to financial reporting, compliance, and audit support.Why Consider This Opportunity?Opportunity to support programs that create a measurable impact within the communityHigh-visibility role with regular interaction across finance, operations, and leadership teamsOwnership of a diverse portfolio of federal and state-funded grantsDevelop expertise in grant accounting, regulatory compliance, and fund managementExposure to multi-entity accounting environments and intercompany transactionsStable organization with established funding sources and long-term sustainabilityMeaningful involvement in month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processesExperience working with modern ERP systems and grant management platformsAutonomy and responsibility within a collaborative, mission-driven cultureKey ResponsibilitiesManage the financial administration of assigned federal, state, and other grant-funded programsPrepare and submit grant billings, reimbursement requests, drawdowns, and supporting documentationMonitor grant budgets, expenditures, and funding availability to ensure compliance with award requirementsMaintain accurate accounts receivable, general ledger, and grant-related accounting recordsPrepare grant financial reports and assist stakeholders with funding utilization analysisReconcile grant balances and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracySupport month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliationsPartner with program managers and department leaders to ensure proper allocation and reporting of grant expendituresAssist with grant audits, Single Audits, and regulatory reviews by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requestsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies related to grant administrationIdentify opportunities to improve grant reporting processes, strengthen controls, and enhance financial transparencyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting required3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit, government, healthcare, education, or grant-funded environmentExperience managing federal and/or state grants, including reporting and compliance requirementsStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and accounts receivable processesExperience preparing grant billings, reimbursement requests, and financial reportsAbility to manage multiple grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneouslyStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work independently while building effective relationships across departmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Uniform Guidance, grant compliance regulations, and Single Audit requirementsExposure to nonprofit fund accounting and restricted funding environmentsExperience working with ERP systems such as Acumatica, Workday, or similar accounting platformsKnowledge of indirect cost allocations, grant budgeting, and funding reimbursementsExperience supporting external audits and regulatory reporting requirements
