  • Brownstone Investment Group
  • New York, NY

Job Description

About

Brownstone Investment Group is a leader in fixed income trading and distribution solutions, with a network spanning over 2,200 relationships. Since 1998, Brownstone has built its reputation on integrity, innovation, and exceptional client service. Our entrepreneurial culture provides employees with meaningful responsibility and opportunities for long-term career growth.

The Role

Brownstone is seeking a quantitative trader to own P&L in an automated pricing and market-making business in fixed income. This is a trading seat first where the candidate is expected to run a live book and is accountable for its returns. You will find unique market structure inefficiencies, liquidity fragmentation across venues and protocols, routing and execution gaps, and build a trading strategy that profits off that.

Responsibilities

  • Own P&L in an assigned product or strategy, including inventory, risk, and return on balance sheet
  • Run automated pricing and execution across client inquiry, streaming, and venues
  • Design, backtest, and deploy systematic pricing, execution, and market-making models and iterate on them with live data
  • Partner with technology to advance the firm's electronic trading platform and infrastructure
  • Contribute quantitative and market insight to the broader floor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or similar)
  • 5+ years running systematic pricing, electronic market-making, or algorithmic execution in a live book
  • Strong programming and system design skills; experience building asynchronous services for pricing, order routing, and execution
  • Fluency with modern AI tools, including LLM-assisted coding and research workflows
  • Demonstrated knowledge of market microstructure and experience managing P&L and risk

Why Brownstone

  • Distribution across 2,200+ counterparties feeding a rapidly scaling e-trading business
  • Balance sheet and risk limits sized to the opportunity
  • Direct partnership with technology and an extremely flat, entrepreneurial structure
  • The chance to build a business

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $300,000, depending on skills and experience. Total compensation for the role also includes a discretionary bonus tied to book performance and a competitive benefits package.
