Options Market-Maker (Trader)

Location: Chicago

Working Hours: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00pm–1:00am CT

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading market-maker and proprietary trading firm to identify an experienced Options Market Making Trader for its expanding Asian-hours trading operation.

The role offers the opportunity to join a highly collaborative, technology-led environment with meaningful responsibility for live trading, portfolio management, and real-time risk decisions . You will work closely with trading, quantitative, and technology teams across global locations.

The Role

• Trade options markets primarily through electronic execution, with some interaction with brokers.

• Manage positions and portfolio risk in real time, responding to evolving market conditions.
\n
• Monitor trading systems, controls, and parameters to ensure effective and reliable operation.
\n
• Partner with technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve trading or operational issues.
\n
• Provide effective handovers between global trading shifts, covering key market, risk, and system developments.
\n
• Support improvements to trading, execution, and strategy outside core market hours.
\n
• Complete an initial training programme covering different global shifts, products, and proprietary trading systems.
\n

What We're Looking For

\n
• 2+ years of options market-making experience.
\n
• 1+ year of market-making portfolio management experience.
\n
• Strong knowledge of options trading, portfolio management, and risk management.
\n
• Good Python skills.
\n
• Ability to make independent decisions in fast-moving markets.
\n
• Strong technical and operational aptitude, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technology teams.
\n
• Clear communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
\n
• Genuine interest in developing a long-term career within an Asian-hours trading operation .
\n
• Experience trading index, volatility, or metals options would be advantageous.
\n

Working Pattern

The core schedule is Sunday–Thursday, 4:00pm–1:00am CT , with some flexibility outside these hours for training, collaboration, and strategy development.

This is an on-site position in Chicago .
